Fast service and great hospitality!I visited this chain when I was in Japan and loved it, so I was really excited to see they were opening in London. I waited around a year before they opened but it was SO worth the wait! Delicious curry just like in their Japan stores, the staff even greet you in Japanese (as well as confirming orders to the chefs in Japanese), really nice touch. It's a small shop so you will have to queue during peak hours however my order was taken from outside ready for when I was seated. A service charge is added to the bill so there's no need to tip (another authentic Japanese touch). I really hope they expand, overall the food is genuinely delicious and the fast/friendly service is great.

Pleasant surprise First time trying Japanese curry and it was really unique, comforting and delicious. The portion of food is very adequate. The food and the waiters are exceptional The chef was rather rude in the open kitchen, who asked us to wait outside in the cold but the head waiter quickly corrected this.In summary, decor nice, food delicious (but wish they fried there chicken and pork in separate friers, to cater for halal/ kosher traditions). All in all would come here again!

Great place! Very tasty and well balanced curry. Staff friendly and helpful. Nice decor. Expect to wait a while. Tap water tastes awful.

Questions & Answers

Yes, a trough in the back.

About what you'd expect for the area. Maybe $11-$15 per adult entree. A bit less for the kids. The menu is here https://ichibanyausa.com/menu-1

Try the katsu curry. It's a staple.

Was there just on Friday. They don't split checks anymore. They can make separate transactions for each person at the table, but you have to let them know BEFORE you order.

I think a more appropriate answer would be - because things are better with gravy all over.

This is not correct. We just looked at the ingredient list on the curry and it most definitely has milk in it. That does not count as dairy free.
